Fashion a la Anna Pawłowska's artistic design

At a palace seminar devoted to fashion outside Poznań, arranged by Anna and Andrzej Kareński in the guiding spirit of Gianni Versace (the Italian designer who died tragically and whose liberated imagination blurred the boundaries between the contemporary definition of clothes and a work of art), we met the Poznań designer Anna Pawłowska who already then was a winner of many prestigious awards and distinctions, to name a few, Srebrna Pętelka and Moda Top.

Her outlook on fashion is close to that of the famous master. Being modern, taking in current trends and under- standing what's in vogue does not hamper this designer and stylist in treating clothes as an artistic form. We have colourful compositions that attract the eye like a painting, a provocative and at the same time dynamic use of colour, outfits that hold their own in open spaces - as does a sculpture. It is necessary to say in this regard that every one of Anna Pawłowska's ideas, regardless of inspiration, underlines the classical beauty of woman's shape without destroying individuality.

Her recent collection, shown with great success at the Poznań Fashion Fair, "Twoja druga skóra" (Your Second Skin), takes the latest advances in technique into consideration. Made out of leather-cloth, it underscores the figure and personality of modern woman without resigning from romantic mystery. It is spell binding, appealing and at the same time seductive though inaccessible in the constant search and battle for its place in the world.
